He Clings to Me Too

He Clings to Me Too

John 10:27-30 | Flowers in an Urn by Jan van Huysum | Gospel Portions Book: www.ryanbush.org
Ryan Bush:

A little girl was once looking at a picture, which represents a rock in the midst of a stormy sea. And on top of the rock was a cross to which a sea battered woman clung, faint and exhausted. Nearby, the wreckage from a ship can be seen disappearing into the Black Sea. What does this mean? Asked the child. It's called The Rock of Ages. It signifies Jesus to whom we cling for salvation. As the hymn tells us, Other refuge have I none, was the answer. Oh, yes, said the child. Then, after a moment's hesitation, she said, But that rock isn't my Jesus. For when I cling to Him, He reaches down and clings to me too.

Ryan Bush:

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one. John 10:27-30.
